Terms for using ADU Plan Finder

ADU Plan Finder is an informational public directory. Official sources and local agency determinations control.

Last updated May 4, 2026.

Directory Scope

ADU Plan Finder is a public information directory for discovering official pre-approved accessory dwelling unit plan programs, source links, plan summaries, providers, and jurisdiction pages.

Informational Use Only

The directory does not provide legal, architectural, engineering, permitting, construction, code-compliance, cost, financing, or other professional advice. Do not rely on ADU Plan Finder as a substitute for official permit review, a jurisdiction-specific determination, or advice from qualified professionals.

Plan availability, accepted-plan status, fees, permit requirements, and local program rules can change. Before making decisions, verify the current requirements with the relevant agency and any licensed professionals involved in your project.

No Government Affiliation

ADU Plan Finder is not affiliated with, operated by, authorized by, or endorsed by any city, county, state, public agency, or permitting department. References to agencies, jurisdictions, official programs, or source pages are included to identify public information sources.

Official Sources Control

Directory pages summarize source records and may contain omissions, outdated information, transcription errors, or interpretation errors. If ADU Plan Finder conflicts with an official source, written agency guidance, or a permit-review determination, the official source or agency determination controls.

Listings and Claims

Plan and provider listings may be created from public sources, homeowner submissions, provider submissions, or correction requests. Claiming a listing creates a review request only. It does not guarantee that a listing is accurate, complete, affiliated with the claimant, eligible for inclusion, or accepted by any jurisdiction.

Submissions and Corrections

When you submit a plan, source, correction, or listing claim, ADU Plan Finder may review, store, and use that information to evaluate the request, contact you about it, update directory records, and improve the public directory. Correction requests may be retained for audit, moderation, data-quality, and history purposes even after a page is updated, declined, or removed.

Changes

ADU Plan Finder may update directory content, source links, review processes, these terms, or related policies as the project changes.
